The South Shore Bird Club (SSBC) was founded in 1946 and the first members set out to explore the birds and birding habitats of the South Shore of Massachusetts. We still concentrate on a variety of mainly local field trips. Most trips involve car-pooling. Non-members are always welcome.

Meet at McDonald's at the intersection of Rte. 6 (aka Huttleston Ave.) and Alden Road in Fairhaven, 14 Plaza Way (near Staples). Explore the thickets and bays of Fairhaven. At this date we could see the beginnings of spring migration, as blackbirds should be back on the south coast of Massachusetts.

Meet: Behind the Assawompsett School at 323 Main Street, Lakeville
The focus of this trip will be on ducks and gulls in the area as well as Bald Eagles and other raptors. We may explore some other productive areas that are near the Lakeville Ponds. Please be sure to wear waterproof footwear since some of the trails might be wet and muddy.
